  • ST ANDREWS' BEACH & BUSH RIDE High Season $105, Low Season $98


    This is our most popular ride and no prior riding experience is necessary to enjoy it. The ride is approx 2 hours and is offered every day of the year (except Xmas Day). This ride has some magnificent scenery and is suitable for all riding abilities from beginners to experience riders.

    We call this our 'Signature Ride' and it has been enjoyed by 1000's of locals and international tourists for more than 20 years. The ride takes you to the picturesque St Andrews Ocean Beach on the Mornington Peninsula about 90 minutes drive from Melbourne.
    • The ride leaves our stables and moves along a sandy bushland track for about 45 minutes heading towards the beach. Once there, the horses climb over lofty sand dunes and down onto a beautiful sandy beach where the horses often stroll in the rock protected ocean water.
    • Our instructors are there to help inexperienced riders and the ride involves mainly walking but will include some slow trotting on the way to the beach.
    • Views along the coastline from the sand dunes are spectacular and surfers and even whales can often be seen.
    • Once on the beach, riders who our guides deem to be competent may trot along the beautiful St Andrews ocean beach.
    • Riders can choose to walk along the shoreline as we have a minimum of 2 instructors on our rides.
    • The exhilaration of riding along the beach as the waves crash over the nearby rocks with the wind blowing in your face is both breath-taking and memorable.
    • The minimum age for this ride is 10 years. Younger ages can be accomodated on private rides, on the 'walk only' ride & if the kids have considerable riding experience. Weight restrictions apply to all of our rides. Call for further details

  • TRUEMANS BUSH RIDE Adult High Season $60, Adult Low Season $55, Kids High Season $55, Kids Low Season $45


    This popular Bush Trail Ride is an economical introduction to horse riding and suits those with limited time.

    • The Truemans Ride is a shorter ride and ideal for young families (min age 6 years)
    • The ride takes you along a sandy bush track and is mostly a walking ride but can include some short distances of slow trotting if the group all agree.  
    • Our guides will show you the basics of how to ride a horse before commencing
    • As we ride to the level of the least experienced rider you can choose to book a private ride where your group can elect whether or not to trot on the horses.

    For Private Rides, add $20 per person - Minimum 2 riders

    • Duration: Approx 50 - 55 Minutes

  • WALK ONLY RIDE TO ST ANDREWS OCEAN BEACH - High Season $120, Low Season $115

    A new ride for those who do not want to trot at any time on our St Andrews Bush and Beach Ride. The ride may take a little longer than our normal St Andrews ride where some trotting on the horse is required.

    • The ride walks along the same track as the St Andrews Beach Ride.
    • Note that most people choose our standard St Andrews Beach ride and thus there are fewer times available to book this walk only ride. All bookings are subject to availability.

    For Private Rides, add $40 per person - Minimum 2 riders

    Duration: Approx 140 Minutes

  • FINGAL 30 MINUTE WALK ONLY RIDE - High Season $55, Low Season $45

    A horse ride for those wanting to experience horse riding at the most basic level.

    • Designed for non-confident riders where the horses only walk.
    • The ride takes you along a sandy track or around a walking track on our 80 acre property.
    • May suit young families where even the most nervous riders can take part.

    For Private Rides, add $10 per person - Minimum 2 riders

    Duration: Approx 30 Minutes

  • GREENS BUSH RIDE - High Season $160, Low Season $140

    The Greens Bush Ride is only suitable for experienced riders who have regularly cantered confidently for long stretches.

    • The horses walk and trot to a nearby National Park known as Greens Bush.
    • The large bushland park has long sandy pathways that are ideal for trotting and cantering horses.
    • All riders must have considerable riding experience.
    • The minimum age for this ride is 14 years. Younger ages may be accepted on private rides & those with considerable riding experience. Call for further details.

    For Private Rides, add $60 per person - Minimum 2 riders Duration: Approx 3 hours

  • COMBINATION ALL DAY RIDE - High Season $250, Low Season $230

    Are you up for an All Day Ride? A total of nearly 5 hours in the saddle! Only for experienced riders.

    • Start your day with our signature St Andrew's Beach & Bush ride to St Andrews Ocean Beach and return for a lunch break at our Gunnamatta stables.
    • The afternoon ride is our 3 hour Bush Ride to the Greens Bush National Park.
    • Walk, trot and canter along winding sandy pathways scattered throughout Greens Bush before heading back to our Gunnamatta stables.

    For Private Rides, add $80 per person - Minimum 2 riders Duration: Approx 5 hours







  • TWILIGHT BEACH & BUSH RIDE November - April Only - High Season $120, Low Season $115

    NOTE: Only available during summer months (November - Early April)

    Our Twilight Ride commences in the late afternoon as the day draws to an end. Enjoy our spectacular St Andrews Bush & Beach ride that starts between 5.30 - 6pm and runs for approx 2 hours

    • It's a peaceful time of the day and one of the more enjoyable times to ride.
    • Riding in the evening on those very hot summer days is ideal.
    • Our Twilight Bush & Beach Ride usually begins between 5.30 and 6.00 pm but check times when booking.

    For Private Rides, add $40 per person - Minimum 2 riders. More expensive but more romantic!

  • HOT SPRINGS RIDE & BATHE PACKAGE - High Season $130, Low Season $125



    Indulge yourselves a little! Enjoy our most popular and spectacular St Andrews Beach & Bush Ride, then immerse your tired bodies in the nearby Peninsula Hot Springs natural pools.

    • Your day commences with our signature St Andrews Beach & Bush ride. After your ride collect a pass where you can spend the remainder of the day enjoying the natural hot spring pools at nearby Peninsula Hot Springs.
    • Relax in the quiet, peaceful surrounds of this world class attraction before dipping into one of the numerous natural hot spring pools. Options to upgrade to a range of relaxing treatments including full body massages may be possible but need to be booked directly with Peninsula Hot Springs.
    • There is a licenced kiosk and a range of massages and treatments available. Find further information about the natural hot springs at: www.peninsulahotsprings.com  










  • PRIVATE RIDES - At an Extra Cost per person



    For added privacy & enjoyment you may wish to choose a Private Ride.

    We can only offer a limited number of Private Rides but they are the perfect ride for couples or for families who want to be able to ride at their own pace.

    • For safety reasons, with our 'group rides' we are required to ride at the level of the least experienced rider. The pace of a 'Private Ride' can be more varied to suit your preference.
    • All our rides can be booked as 'Private Rides' at an additional cost subject to availability. See above ride descriptions for details.
    • With a Private Ride, our guides will focus on making your day a special and memorable experience. Minimum riders - 2.
    • Please Pre-book these rides early as we only have limited Private Rides available each day.





  • GUNNAMATTA EQUESTRIAN CENTRE - LESSONS & CLINICS

    For Regular and Competition Riders

    Our Equestrian Centre offers a range of lessons and clinics primarily for Adult and Junior Competitors

    • Sarah Tipping coordinates all Gunnamatta Equestrian Centre activities including riding lessons for dressage, cross-country and show jumping. Clinics and Lessons with Olympian equestrian riders Megan Jones and Amanda Ross are run at Gunnamatta Trail Rides
    • Hiring of facilities including an outdoor arena and a 1 km training track for fitness work can also be arranged subject to GTR conditions
